Meet.. Boro Brodnik.

March 9, 2015

BoroName: Boro Brodnik

ASL: 28, Male, Sofia

Occupation: Musician/Director

His thing is.. music.

We met.. at Parkway Drive’s gig in Sofia back in 2011.

About: I must say that I briefly remember the first time I met Boro. It was most certainly at a Parkway Drive’s gig ages ago but for obvious reasons that’s all I can really remember. However, I clearly remember the second time I met him..

It was a hot summer day and we were filming Desislava Madjunova‘s intro for Bunt Art. We were in the middle of a field in the outskirts of Sofia, dancing in full Bulgarian folklore costumes (FYI: that means you’re wearing wool on wool with more wool). The sun was shining, the haze was making it hard to bread while Desislava and I were jumping around in the dirt, having Boro behind the camera. The end result – well, it was all worth the effort because the footage was brilliant.

A month after I was packing my stuff for my UK adventure while he was getting ready for Prague. This is how a month ago he messaged me out of nowhere and it hit me! He’s was meant to be the next person I would be introducing on Chaosbook.

What animal would you be in an alternative universe?

Any ocean creature, any bird or insect. I would choose an alternative perspective on life on Earth. If I have to be an animal I better be some mighty tanky beast feasting on your blood.

Which are the 3 things that excite you the most?

Girls, decadence and the blues.

The ultimate guide to writing lyrics in 10 quick steps..

1. Don’t hesitate to write because you think you’re lame, uninteresting or lack talent, cause you are not;

2. Pick a worthwhile theme; Try to tell a story if you can;

3. Personalize it so it connects to people and they initiate with it;

4. Dress it up accordingly to the agenda of you music;

5. Work with the actual musicians on the lyrical bars as they always know better;

6. Build the emotional temporhythm and reach the climax with the music;

7. Give yourself time to rework and rethink but once you feel it’s ready, don’t touch it anymore. That’s the beauty of art, that you can’t change it after years as it depicts an unique sense of your inner state at a current place/time.

8. Get rid of half of the words you’ve written. They are always too much. It’s a song, not a novel.

9. Test it live in front of actual audience before you record it;

10. Forget about all of the steps and be sincere to yourself!

Describe the sound of silence.

It may sound weird but I can’t tell if I know the sound of silence for real. I always have that buzzing brum in my head and there are so many voices trying to get on the surface that I never really find peace in silence. As a matter of fact the quieter it is, the louder it gets. Music helps to mute it.

I’m not sure I can describe it but I will try to picture it:

I woke up in a world with no music and I..

.. made it my quest to find it or recreate it. I went far and wide to search for it the concrete sound, beat, tone to start with. At the other end of the world where nothing is alive I started vibrating with the breaths of nature, embracing  the waves and winds in that kingdom of unnatural matter. The vast landscapes of shapeless sounds overwhelmed me and I suddenly realized that I don’t need the music as I knew it. Music was everywhere…

Meet.. Ana Avramova.

March 2, 2015

Ana AvramovaName: Ana Avramova

ASL: 22, Female, Sofia

Occupation: Party Master

Her thing is.. music.

We met.. in front of her high-school because she was one of my best friend’s best friends.

About: Wordchaos. is generally a moderately personal blog. Yet, with this post I am going to step up my game by introducing you one of my oldest and closest friends.

There is so much I can tell you about Ana but I am afraid it will take me a while before I can even get close to describing what an extraordinary person she is. However, I am going to give it a go…

So, Ana is a person who looks like she doesn’t give a shit about what so ever but she is the exact opposite – she is perhaps the most caring, loving and kind person that you’ll ever meet. She changes her hair more often than you change your bed sheets. She loves animals (all animals) as much as you love you mum. She knows music as well as you know your face. She knows how to organise a great party and she’s not afraid to do it cause this is how she rolls.

That’s not the whole story but this is all I am going to tell you because the rest is just epic stories from our time spent together. If you know Ana, you’d know what I am talking about. If not, I must say you missing a lot out of life.

How many tattoos do you have?

So far ten. But no one knows..

Which is your favourite tattoo?

I love all of them and they are never enough. I actually have two favourites. The first one is kinda girly and cliche but the story of it makes it very special. I have two butterflies on my left wrist. I had them two years ago as a gift for my mother. Her boyfriend is a biologist and he specialises in butterflies so I took two of his pictures of my mother’s favourite butterfly and and I have them on my wrist. They are called Lycaena Candens. The second one is my dog dressed like an English gentleman with a pipe. I love-love-love it. I hate those post mortem tattoos so I wanted to have one of my dog while he is still with me.

Animals are..

..better people.

List all the musical instruments you have.

I have drums, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, ukulele, accordion, pam flute and a didgeridoo.

Describe the sound of music in less than 100 words.

The only thing that can describe perfectly all of your feelings and emotions in every second. And you’re never alone, it’s the perfect partner for every step in your life. It can be a muse or a friend. I have real problem describing things that are especially precious for me. You can find the perfect soundtrack for your life and it’s endless, I don’t think one life would be enough to fulfill my need to know all of it.

The difference between the hedgehog and the fox..

February 28, 2015

The difference between the hedgehog and the fox, wrote Sir Isaiah Berlin in distinguishing between Dostoevski and Tolstoy, is that the fox knows a lot about a great many things, but the hedgehog knows everything about one great thing.

Meet.. Tsvetoslav Tsonev.

February 23, 2015

Tsvetoslav TsonevName: Tsvetoslav Tsonev

ASL: 18, Male, Gorna Orqhovitsa

Occupation: Comedian

His thing is.. entertaining people.

We met.. on The Ble Channel.

About: Today is a special day because I am introducing you my favourite “online” person of all times – Tsvetoslav Tsonev a.k.a. Tsuro (Цуро).

I remember the first time I saw one of Tsvetoslav’s videos on YouTube. I don’t have a kid yet but I swear it was one helluva emotional moment.. I felt so proud as if my own child’s first word was _____ (I will leave this one open to interpretations). Perhaps that’s because The Ble Channel  was the first Bulgarian channel I had the actual desire to subscribe to or just his ridiculous cuteness. And if the above said is not enough to make you at least check out one of his videos (no English translation unfortunately), I will just quickly try to summarise what you might expect from Tsvetoslav and his videos.

Basically, you have to be prepared for a good laugh because he has a brilliant and genuine sense of humour – completely and totally backed up by his creativity (and thorough understanding of the Bulgarian culture). Apart from that, Tsvetoslav  has an exquisite taste in music, films and I’d imagine comedy in general. It’s either that because he must have learned how to be this awesome somehow or he is just talented as hell..

I am joking. We’re talking facts here. He is talented as hell.

Who the hell is Tsvetosal Tsonev?

Even I don’t know. One moment I might be acting like a serious 45 y/o business man and doing the Soulja boy dance the next.

What does a YouTuber do?

Being a Youtuber is like running on a never-ending treadmill.

5 things you will never ever do in front of the camera.

The 2 things I’m absolutely sure I won’t do on camera are rob a bank and do a daily vlog cause they are the cancer of the internet.

Geography is..

.. a giant and boring demon defeated by yours truly. I got an ‘A’ on it.

I woke up one day in my sister’s body and..

.. started buying nice clothes. Just to mix it up a bit.

Favourite Bulgarian YouTuber..

.. I don’t really have a favourite of anything because they’re always changing.

Where did the last square go?
